Qualities & Fabrics

A characteristic of WorkZone is the excellent quality of the materials, carefully chosen from Europe’s leading manufacturers. This quality is maintained throughout the modern production process, which ensures the first-class durability of the finished product.

The modern design of WorkZone workwear gives quality an extra dimension – plus many smart and practical details. WorkZone workwear is made from very durable fabrics with a robust finish, that can withstand any everyday challenge.

Standard workwear
Our standard workwear is made from 65 % polyester/35 % cotton, 300 g/m2 and is a strong, tough canvas type with a slightly brushed reverse which makes the fabric soft and comfortable to wear. The material is Nano-treated to give an original look and breathability.

Nanofinish
WorkZone fabrics are treated using nanotechnology, which ensures an original look and breathability. The treatment leaves an invisible membrane which improves durability and, at the same time, protects against dirt, wind and weather. The nano treatment does not provoke allergic reactions, is water-based and environmentally-friendly.

Water penetration resistance - WP
Water penetration resistance is measured in millimetre water column pressure. This measurement indicates the degree to which a given material resists water penetration.

Breathability - MTP
The MTP value indicates the breathability of a membrane.

Cordura®
corduraWe use 100 % Cordura® - 340 g/m2 reinforcements on knee pockets in all our trouser models. Cordura® is a superbly durable material, extremely hardwearing and resistant to tears and holes. CORDURA® is: Ten times more durable than cotton Three times more durable than standard polyester It has double the durability of standard nylon

3M scotchlite
We use 3M Scotchlite™ reflective tape. These tapes exceed the most stringent safety criteria. They make certain that you are visible, reducing the risk of accident. As the reflective tape is also flexible, you will be seen and still be comfortable.

EU ecolabel – the ecoflower
eco labelStandard workwear is EU ecolabelled. The flower is the EU environmental label and a guarantee that the workwear:
• is produced with respect for the environment.
• does not contain harmful chemicals.
• will retain shape and colour.
The flower is government-approved and controlled by the office for Ecolabelling in Denmark. Read more at www.ecolabel.dk

Oeko-Tex Standard 100
Oeko-Tex standard 100 certificationAll our materials are Oeko-Tex certified. Oeko-Tex is the world’s leading textile health and safety certificate and ensures that the certified textile is not harmful to the health of the end-user. The “Confidence in textiles” logo is familiar to most people. Oeko-Tex is a human-ecological product standard. The textiles are tested for harmful chemicals and dyestuffs. For further iformation: See www.oekotex.com.

Work-Tex membrane
work-tex membraneThe Work-Tex membrane is a component of all WorkZone winter wear. In winter jackets, vests and trousers, the Work-Tex membrane effectively protects against the effects of wind and water and at the same time ensures that your skin can breathe. Workwear with the Work-Tex membrane is particularly suited for work outdoors that demands physical effort and creates a great deal of body heat. The Work-Tex membrane makes sure that you don’t get cold when working in an unpredictable, and often damp, climate.

thinsulate
3M Thinsulate is the latest in insulation technology. The fabric is made of synthetic microfibres that are ten times smaller than the ones used in other synthetic insulation materials. These minute fibres absorb more air than other materials. This means that Thinsulate can achieve the same insulation effect as other products but with a significantly thinner layer.

Safety categories for EN 471 –
fluorescent workwear
en471This symbol means that the clothing is certified to EN 471.
The upper figure gives the clothing classification and the lower figure gives the highest class of reflection.

EN 343: Bad weather protection
en343This pictogram shows the degree of protectivity.
The numbers next to the pictogram indicate:
x: The outer jacket’s resistance to water getting in from outside (water resistance).
3 = highest protection, 1 = lowest.
y: Resistance to moisture transfer (breathability) shows how well moisture from sweating can escape from the inside and out through the outer material.
3 = good permeation, 1 = bad.

EN 342: Protection against cold
en342x: Air permeability
3 = good, 1 = less good
y: Resistance to moisture transfer (breathability) indicates how well moisture from sweat can escape from the inside and out through the outer material.
3 = good permeation, 1 = bad.

Washing instructions for WorkZone

Well maintained workwear lasts longer and looks smarter. For your WorkZone workwear we recommend frequent washing at low temperature, rather than less frequent washing at high temperatures.

WorkZone workwear has been developed to be hard wearing - also when washed - but we give the following advice which will prolong the lifetime of your workwear and better wash results:

  • Do not use fabric softener
  • Never overfill the machine - Wash coloureds inside out. We recommend you use a washing powder for coloureds.
  • Close velcro closures and zippers before you wash - they will last longer
  • If the workwear gets very dirty, wash it as soon as possible to avoid the dirt getting worked into the fabric
  • Never use bleach or other strong chemical products that can damage your clothing
  • Look for the care label and wash in accordance with the symbols - that is the way to get perfect wash results
